Online livestock marketing platform AuctionsPlus has appointed Anna Speer as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Ms Speer’s appointment follows the retirement of outgoing CEO, Gary Dick, who will be stepping down from the role in July.

AuctionsPlus chairman Chris Howie said Ms Speer brought extensive knowledge in the agriculture sector and a strong technological background.

“Anna’s strong industry background and experience integrating agriculture and software are highly relevant to AuctionsPlus’ operations,” Mr Howie said.

With 11 years’ experience in the livestock industry, Ms Speer comes to AuctionsPlus from her previous role as general manager with saleyards and cattle software company, Livestock Exchange.

“Anna has worked her way through the industry starting out as a jillaroo and stud registrar through to high-level strategic and management roles,” Mr Howie said.

“Her skill set and depth of experience across the industry are crucial attributes that will ensure AuctionsPlus continues to provide cost effective marketing options to Australia’s livestock and wool industries.”

Ms Speer said she looked forward to the challenge of the AuctionsPlus role, as the company faces its next phase of growth and development.

“AuctionsPlus is a well-established and widely-recognised company, with huge potential for future growth and development in the industry,” she said.

“On behalf of the AuctionsPlus Board, I thank Gary for his valuable contribution,” Chris said.

“Gary started with AuctionsPlus in 1987 and over the past 27 years has been instrumental in guiding the company through times of change and challenge, to become the sustainably profitable business that it is today.”

“Gary leaves the Company in a well-established position for growth and development, and we thank him for his efforts.”
