NLRS Roma Store market commentary:

Yarding 4692 Change -808

Yarding numbers declined slight, but the quality of store cattle improved this week. Most cattle were drawn from South West and Central West Queensland, while there was one large consignment from Alice Springs, Northern Territory.

All the usual restocker and feedlot buyers were operating and some rainfall across the region boosted buyer enthusiasm. There was also a live export buyer operating during the sale. Heifer calves sold to 328c and averaged 271c, up 2c, while light weight yearling steers made to 368c and mostly ranged between 317c and 336c/kg. Medium weight yearling steers to feed topped at 310c and averaged 293c, up 8c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers earned to 284c and averaged 278c, up 3c/kg. Light weight yearling heifers topped at 336c and mainly ranged between 276c and 289c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed reached 286c and averaged 279c, up 6c/kg.
