Yarding 8205 Change 956

Yarding numbers increase again this week. Restocker buyers were eager to secure light weight yearling steers, with strong competition from feedlot buyers on heavier weaner steers and heifers. Overall, quality of the yarding was mixed with buyer support remaining strong across all classes of store cattle.

Feedlot buyers were active on medium weight steers and heifers with prices lifting 5c/kg. All the usual feedlot buyers provided solid competition for heavy weight yearling steers and medium weight grown steers. Light weight yearling steers reached 368c and slightly heavier sorts sold between 360c and 336c, with most averaging between 326c and 312c/kg. Steer calves sold to 366c and averaged 343c, while heifer calves made to 298c and averaged 297c/kg.
