NLRS sale commentary

Yarding 2500 Change -2192

Yardings fell as supply tightened across the region after scattered rainfall last week. It was a very mixed quality yarding with all the usual feedlot and restocker buyers operating. Good quality lines attracted solid feedlot buyer competition, while restockers were selective when purchasing the mixed offering of light weight yearling steers and heifers. Light weight 2 score yearling steers to restockers were 25c cheaper on 310c, while those to feed sold between 302c and 304c/kg. Medium weight C2 yearling steers to restockers eased 9c to average 308c, while heavy weight lines to feed decreased 29c to average 264c/kg. Light weight C2 yearling heifers to restockers averaged 277c, while heavy weight C3 lines to feed averaged 272c/kg. Heavy weight D3 grown steers to slaughter settled on 279c, while heavy weight bullocks averaged 277c/kg. Medium weight D2 cows to slaughter slipped 7c to average 190c, while heavy weight D3 lines gained 10c to settle on 216c/kg.
