Gracemere store sale 16 Jan 2015: 40-70c rise on 2014 close

Combined agents yarded 3100 head for the first sale of 2015 last Friday which comprised of 1030 steers, 1496 heifers, 396 cows, 102 cows and calves and 76 bulls/mickies.

A combination of recent good rainfalls in CQ, increased export rates and excellent competition from feedlots, processors and re-stockers saw record prices achieved today for most descriptions with a rise of up to 40-70c/kg on last year’s rates.

B & C Robinson, Yaamba-  Sold No3 Brangus steers for 249c/kg weighing 401kg to return $1000p/hd.

Telemon Pastoral, “Telemon” Banana- Sold No4 Brahman Heifers for 201c/kg weighing 266kg to return $536p/hd.

Wayne Vaughan and Family– Sold prime bullocks to top at 233c/kg weighing 615kg to return $1434p/hd.

Cedar Creek Grazing, Gogango- Sold a top pen of feeder No4 steers to top at 250c/kg weighing 398kg to make $995p/h and also sold cows topping at 214c/kg weighing 533kg to return $1143.
